Boots 'n' Roots  - At Boots 'n' Roots we work hard in harmony with nature to bring you the safest, most nutritious vegetables all through the year. We focus on feeding the soil so that our plants are naturally healthy and full of nutrients.  Everything we apply goes beyond organic requirements.

BNR is a beautiful farm in Duncan, BC, and is dedicated to growing and raising food, not just sustainably, but in a regenerative manner. We grow over 25 different vegetables, fruits, herbs and berries.

Veggies - BNR is one of the few organic market garden farms in the Cowichan Valley that practices true Permaculture techniques. This is a step up from traditional organic, and is both a sustainable and regenerative way to grow our food! We never use tractors or other heavy machinery, and practice a 'no till' method, where a lot of effort is put into creating a healthy soil food web - loaded with beneficial micro-organisms, fungi, and minerals. We make all our compost and fertilizers from scratch right here on the farm. The techniques used actually make the land healthier - regenerating a beautiful soil, plus a great habitat for all sorts of local wildlife.  Please feel free to come and ask lots of questions about how we grow!

A few comments by CSA members :

I've been involved in other CSA programs over the years, and Boots 'n' Roots Farm consistently  provides the best value for my money each year. Always a great selection of veggies each week! Thank you,
H.D.

What a tasty summer/fall of farm fresh veggies from Boots 'n' Roots Farm.
A whole lot of learning – getting veggies that I had never seen or tried – then
finding out how to cook them.
It was exciting to see what veggies we would get each week.
I was sad to see the season end, but June will be here before we know and fresh
veggies again.
The variety and taste of fresh picked veggies is something everyone has to
experience.
Thank you Kelly for the good eats.

Michelle

Last year was our first year participating in a CSA program.  We were very happy with the amount of fresh veggies we received each week as well as the variety.  It definitely pushed us to cook out of our comfort zone and taught us about eating in season.  We're already anxious to receive our first bag of fresh veggies this year!

Consider donating to a local farm - funds used for infrastructure such as greenhouses, cloches, and fruit and berry plants. This helps local farms to contribute to the issue of sustainability, and will allow BNR to grow fresh, organic food all year 'round.
